Social Responsibility

Raw material sourcing -
we are committed to animal and farm welfare assurance schemes and our staff and suppliers also consider the environment at every stage of the procurement and supply chain. We seek to support and promote the sales of locally produced farm assured meat through the continued development of our Southern Pride brand as well as enhanced welfare standards such as RSPCA Assured and Organic Products.

Healthy eating -
we aim to wherever possible use fresh ingredients, work with our seasoning suppliers to minimise or eliminate additive usage, and to ensure the Food Standards Agency salt targets are met. Nutritional standards are a consideration in the development of our meat preparations (Burgers, Sausages and Marinated Products). We also aim to collate nutritional data for our full product range through a combination of use of reference values and analysis. This information is then to be made available to our customers.

Community contributions -
we aim to support other local businesses and organisations by sourcing goods and services locally, contributions to fund raising events, use of local labour, investment in the future of the workforce by annual staff appraisals highlighting staff development opportunities and training needs.

Employment -
we will continue to develop our Management Team to take responsibility and respect the principals that have helped the Company to grow. We will plan our training to consist of aims, objectives and lessons planned to ensure that employees are aware of the hazards associated with their duties and have the skills to recognise when things go wrong. Improved levels of training ensure greater levels of staff involvement and consultation.
